A: Age you went on your first international trip: A couple of months, I was born in Australia and baptized in Switzerland.
B: Best (foreign) beer you’ve had and where: I didn’t like beer until I went to the Octoberfest when I was 17… Now I love it! I love good German lager 🙂
C: Cuisine (favorite): Hmm, the impossible question… French, due to steak and frites 🙂
D: Destinations, favourite, least favorite and why: Favourite: Paris – the food, the achitecture, the Lourve. Least Favourite: Indonesia – see this post.
E: Event you experienced abroad that made you say “wow”: The Octoberfest was awesome! So many experiences really 🙂
F: Favorite mode of transportation: Train. Used them all the time in Switzerland, and I love the sleeper trains in Thailand.
G: Greatest feeling while traveling: Discovering something that makes you so happy, you almost burst at the seams.
H: Hottest place you’ve traveled to: Bangkok.. or maybe Kuala Lumpur. Mainly because it was ridiculously hot even in ‘winter’.
I: Incredible service you’ve experienced and where: Haha, anywhere where I pay more 🙂 Had great service in the revolving restaurant in Sydney, of course dinner ended up being almost $400 :O
J: Journey that took the longest: Travelling from England to Australia after my semester abroad… I think it was London – Frankfurt – Columbo (including overnight stay) – Singapore – Perth (overnight stay) – Kununurra. The things you do to save money!
K: Keepsake from your travels: ‘Bangkok City’ t-shirt, ‘Bintang’ t-shirt, I think you see where this is going…
L: Let-down sight, why and where: Gili T in Indonesia; Koh Tao, Thailand (although SCUBA diving totally made up for it in both these places… it was just disappointing on land)
M: Moment where you fell in love with travel: Going to Paris for 4 days when I was 17.
N: Nicest hotel you’ve stayed in: This 6 star hotel we stayed in when the airline postponed our flight. Can’t remember the name or the city, but it had a miniature rainforest, complete with ferns and a waterfall, in the middle of the lobby.
O: Obsession—what are you obsessed with taking pictures of while traveling?: Beaches 🙂 Also, things that are different to Aussie culture and therefore funny 🙂
P: Passport stamps, how many and from where? I have dual nationality, so I only have a few actual stamps. In my current passport, only Fiji, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Q: Quirkiest attraction you’ve visited and where: Haha, probably ‘Scenic World’ in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
S: Splurge; something you have no problem forking over money for while traveling: SCUBA diving. Street food. Souvenir t-shirts 🙂
T: Touristy thing you’ve done: Haha, I’m a tourist in all these places. Maybe climb the Eiffel Tower?
V: Visas, how many and for where? Only one, to Indonesia which I purchased on arrival for $25USD
W: Wine, best glass of wine while traveling and where? In my very limited experience, a wine tour in the Swan Valley in Perth, Australia (see how classy I am here).
X: eXcellent view and from where?: Not sure, probably Switzerland or Tasmania (Australia).
Y: Years spent traveling?: Almost 25
Z: Zealous sports fans and where?: In Germany when they hosted the World Cup. Think 10 French supporters (including me and my friend), surrounded by 3000 Italian supporters, all going crazy. Then Zidane headbutts an Italian player. Honestly worried for my safety for a while.
